In Brief: ABA Creates Job Exchange at a Web Site

The American Bankers Association has moved job hunting on-line. The trade group has launched a Web site to bring together bankers who need jobs and banks with posts to fill.

Job seekers can post their resumes on the page and browse job listings, all free of charge.

Edward F. Smith 3d, the association's director of member communications, said the Web site was created to address a problem common to many banks. "What prompted us to offer this service was the frequent news reports that bankers are finding it difficult to attract talent," he said. "When banks are recruiting, they are usually limited to the local pool of talent. This service will give banks access to a nationwide pool of talent."

Banks can advertise a position for $100 per month or check posted resumes for free. There are also special rates for banks wishing to post multiple job listings.

The site's address is http://www.aba-execjobs.com.
