In Brief: Bankers Trust Hires Morgan Exec as Director

Bankers Trust New York Corp. said Friday that M. Stephen Soltis joined the firm as managing director and head of a newly formed institutional asset management services group.

Mr. Soltis, 54, was previously managing director, chief administrative officer, and chief financial officer of J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc.

Starting in his new position today, Mr. Soltis reports to Mary Cirillo, head of Bankers Trust's global institutional services group.

The new asset management unit, which a Bankers Trust spokeswoman said was formed last week, integrates the bank's investment management, securities lending, custody, retirement services, and performance and risk measurement services.
