PNC Bank has hired six bankers, including six former CoreStates employees, for its capital markets division.
The hires will join the foreign exchange and derivatives trading team at the Philadelphia-based bank.
Robert Celata has joined PNC as a managing director of foreign exchange. Mr. Celata was managing director of that unit at CoreStates for five years and spent 10 years at the bank's foreign exchange and risk management advisory services.
Victoria Demo, Hilary Love, Beth Neesham, and Patricia Lifson join PNC as foreign exchange directors.
Ms. Demo spent 15 years in international banking with CoreStates, Mellon Bank, BankBoston, and National City Bank in various senior foreign exchange and marketing positions.
Ms. Love served 10 years at CoreStates as a senior corporate trader, providing consulting and advisory services in foreign exchange risk management to national and international clients.
Before joining PNC, Ms. Neesham was vice president of foreign exchange at Mellon Bank in Philadelphia. She also served in similar roles with Bank of Nova Scotia and Marine Midland Bank.
Ms. Lifson worked at Manufacturers and Traders Bank, Huntington National Bank, and Central Trust Co.
Tina Hwang joined PNC as derivatives director. She worked on CoreStates' interest rate risk management team, where she was responsible for marketing swaps and options to their corporate customer base.
Earlier, PNC Capital Markets announced the addition of James Calla as managing director responsible for strategic and marketing implementation for the Philadelphia region. Mr. Calla also joined PNC from the former CoreStates.
