Veteran Salomon Executive Moves To Bankers Trust As Controller

Bankers Trust Corp., New York, has hired David C. Fisher, head of global operations in the Americas at Travelers Group's Salomon Brothers, as controller.

He succeeded vice chairman Richard H. Daniel, who remains chief financial officer.

Mr. Fisher had earlier been controller of Salomon Inc., and still earlier he had run its mortgage accounting and operations department. He had come to Salomon in 1985 from Arthur Andersen & Co., where he had been a partner.

At Bankers Trust, Mr. Fisher is responsible for financial and management reporting, the budget, expense management, and accounting policies. He will oversee about 500 deputy controllers and business-line chief financial officers.

As at Salomon, he will be a managing director.
