In Brief: Northern N.J. Bank Plans $24M Purchase

United National Bancorp, Bridgewater, N.J., has a deal to buy $75 million-asset State Bank of South Orange for about $24 million in stock.

The transaction, set to close before the end of the year, calls for State Bank's one office in South Orange, N.J., to become a branch of United National Bank.

United National has 26 branches in the northern half of the Garden State and $1.3 billion of assets.
