In Brief: Ernst & Young Using Diversinet Certificates

Diversinet Corp., a Canadian digital certification and public key infrastructure company, announced a system integration agreement with Ernst & Young Canada.

Diversinet is selling what it terms a simplified approach to digital certificates. Ernst & Young principal Antony Smyth said it represents "new options for authentication, authorization, and integrity."

"Our clients need private and accurate electronic transaction capability for their enterprise networks, intranets, extranets, and Internet channels," he said. "We are pleased to be working with this new product and Diversinet to ensure our worldwide client base receives comprehensive up- to-date advice and implementation skill."

Diversinet also entered into a licensing agreement with X and Mail, a leading European provider of e-mail software and services. Diversinet's Passport Certificate Server "will be incorporated into our electronic messaging software that will be marketed and sold to our customer base, composed of large accounts, Internet service providers, and system integrators," said X and Mail chief executive officer Xavier Cournault.
