Short Takes: State St. Vet Returns, To Aid Unit's Investing

State Street Corp., Boston, has lured back a portfolio manager to succeed its trust and investment unit's retired chief investment strategist.

Jeffrey P. Davis returned this month to State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of the banking company, to develop and manage international equity portfolios. He had spent the previous 10 months at Schooner Asset Management, also in Boston.

He will succeed Brenton H. Dickson 4th and report to Anthony W. Ryan, chief investment officer.
