Broker-Dealer Hires Pair to Start Whole-Loan Unit

Links Securities Inc. appointed David Brindley and Jonathan Davis managing directors to develop a residential mortgage whole-loan business that will include origination, securitization, and settlement.

The New York broker-dealer's new group will focus on building relationships with small to midsize mortgage bankers that focus on subprime, high-loan-to-value, commercial, and alternative-documentation mortgages, said J. Todd Morely, chief executive.

"We think the smaller to medium-size firms are underserved," Mr. Morely said.

Mr. Brindley and Mr. Davis previously worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corp. Mr. Brindley was a senior vice president in mortgage sales, focusing on the purchase and sale of conforming and nonconforming mortgages, servicing hedge strategies, and subprime originations.
