Commerce Bank Names Executive

Commerce Bank, Kansas City, Mo., a subsidiary of Commerce Bancshares, hired two vice presidents and an assistant vice president and promoted two other executives.

David H. MacFarland was hired to be vice president in the consumer bank card products division. He will manage the operational and marketing activities for Commerce bank's Visa and MasterCard credit products. Mr. MacFarland had been manager of the credit card business unit of Unocal Corp. in California.

Gary L. Thomas was hired to be vice president and Kansas City dealer services manager. He was an indirect loan manager at NationsBank Corp. and held a similar title at Boatmen's Bancshares.

Brian E. Perott was hired to be assistant vice president in the investment management group's portfolio management division. He analyzes equity positions and manages investment portfolios for individuals and corporate trust accounts. He had been a trust investment officer at Mercantile Bancorp.

Janice E. Moore, an assistant vice president, was promoted to vice president in the investment management group's personal trust division. She has 18 years' experience in trust administration.

Jerry Stanley was promoted from manager of departmental systems to assistant vice president in the information services division. He now is responsible for strategic planning, security administration, and computer systems support.
