Card Briefs: Former Chase Exec To Lead Visa in Korea

Visa International has named Young Chong Kim, a former Chase Manhattan banker and securities company executive, its president for Korea.

Mr. Kim, 53, spent 18 years with Chase, beginning in Seoul in 1971. He was a vice president of corporate banking and of the credit audit department at the head office in New York.

Later he headed Prudential Life Insurance Company of Korea and was recently president of Dong Ah Securities Co.

"Not only does he have a strong track record in the corporate banking and securities sectors but also in-depth knowledge of what is needed for financial institutions operating in the card payment sector to sustain profitability and remain competitive," said Dennis Goggin, Visa's president for the Asia-Pacific region.
