Executive Changes: KeyCorp Signs Up CoreStates' Treasurer

KeyCorp, Cleveland, has hired CoreStates Financial Corp.'s treasurer, Joseph M. Vayda, as its own.

First Union Corp. of Charlotte, N.C., bought Philadelphia-based CoreStates in April.

Mr. Vayda was also named a KeyCorp executive vice president, his rank at CoreStates since 1995, when he also became treasurer.

He will be in charge of KeyCorp's balance sheet as well as capital management, funding, and other corporate treasury functions. He will report to K. Brent Somers, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Mr. Vayda joined CoreStates in 1974 and was named senior vice president and senior asset-liability manager in 1988.
