In Brief: Ill. Bank Using Cash Station's Net Service

Cash Station Inc., the regional electronic banking network, said its Internet banking service has begun to be offered to customers of Mid Town Bank of Chicago.

The community bank is one of more than 20 financial institutions in six states to use the Cash Station system, the result of a strategic partnership with Electronic Data Systems Corp.

Two major regional banks, Firstar Bank of Milwaukee and Northern Trust Co. of Chicago, are also among the users.

"Our Internet banking solution has been widely accepted by financial institutions of all sizes because it is extremely cost-efficient, technologically robust, and a natural extension of our existing processing services," said Susan Nesbitt, home banking product manager for Cash Station, which ties together 6,000 automated teller machines for 600 member institutions.
