Card Briefs: Bank of Hawaii to Sell Airline Passes at ATMs

Bank of Hawaii will start selling coupons for Hawaiian Airlines Inc. airplane tickets through its automated teller machines March 1.

Bank of Hawaii said its machines will be the first to dispense airline ticket coupons.

"This new program will provide added value to our ATM customers who already enjoy the convenience of purchasing U.S. postage stamps and retail gift certificates," said Alton Kuioka, a vice chairman at Bank of Hawaii.

The coupons, which will be distributed at one-third of the bank's 400 ATMs, will be good for a one-way trip among the Hawaiian islands. The coupons differ from standard airline tickets in that they do not hold a specific seat on an airplane. They will be priced the same as other inter- island tickets-now $51.50-sold at Hawaiian Airlines offices.

"This exciting new program with Bank of Hawaii will allow residents and visitors to purchase inter-island coupons at any time," said Paul J. Casey, president and chief executive officer of Hawaiian Airlines.
