Short Takes: Top Private Banker For Citi in Southeast

Citicorp on Monday named a former Credit Suisse executive to head its private banking effort in the Southeast from a base in Miami.

Barry R. Sloane succeeds Patrick J. Kelly in overseeing private banking in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Mr. Kelly was named head of Citibank Florida in June.

Most recently, Mr. Sloane was responsible for the North American private banking business of Credit Suisse. The Zurich-based bank agreed in July to sell its U.S. and Canadian private banking books to Royal Bank of Canada. Credit Suisse an-nounced its decision to pull out of private banking in North America this spring.

Mr. Sloane, 43, also worked for J. & W. Seligman Trust Co., Bankers Trust Corp., and Shearson Lehman Brothers.
