In Brief: CCB Financial Names Peat Marwick Exec CFO

CCB Financial Corp. said Tuesday it hired KPMG adviser Sheldon Fox as the bank company's new chief financial officer.

A company spokeswoman said he succeeded Robert L. Savage Jr., who left CCB at the end of August.

Mr. Fox, who begins his CFO post in October, is currently partner-in- charge of tax for the Carolinas business unit of KPMG Peat Marwick LLP.

During his 17-year tenure at KPMG, Mr. Fox worked closely as a consultant for the $7.4 billion-asset Durham, N.C. bank holding company.
