Short Takes: Trade Groups, School Cooperate on Courses

A Boston-based school of financial services has teamed up with two industry groups to offer instruction in mutual funds, insurance, and banking.

The New England College of Finance will offer the courses in cooperation with the Insurance Library Association and the National Investment Company Service Association.

The program is designed to meet the need for financial services professionals who can address a wide range of consumer needs in a consolidating industry.

The New England College of Finance offers associate's and bachelor's degrees and certificate programs. It has about 8,500 students and offers courses through nearby colleges.
