In Brief: Chase Appoints Senior Officer for Russia

Chase Manhattan Corp. has named Murad Megalli senior country officer in Russia. He succeeds Sergei Boboshko, who is leaving Chase after 29 years, including the last four as senior country officer.

Mr. Megalli was previously stationed in Istanbul, where he was responsible for handling financial institutions in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Israel, and Turkey.

Chase opened a representative office in Moscow in 1973 and later established Chase Manhattan Bank International, a wholly owned subsidiary with 80 employees and $500 million of assets.
