Credit Lyonnais' U.S. Securities Unit Hires Executive

Credit Lyonnais Americas this week said it hired Jonathan de L. Squires as a managing director in its Credit Lyonnais Securities (USA) unit.

Mr. Squires, 46, is to be responsible for marketing and business origination in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and equities. He joins Credit Lyonnais from Gruntal Capital Markets, where he headed the investment bank's technology group.

Before Gruntal, Mr. Squires was co-head of investment banking at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in the United States. He has also worked at Conning International in Hartford, Conn., and David Allsopp & Associates in New York and London.

Credit Lyonnais Securities (USA) is a subsidiary of Credit Lyonnais, a $250 billion-asset Paris banking company. Credit Lyonnais Americas has been building its investment banking capability this year and has recently hired several M&A professionals and research analysts.

In the United States, Credit Lyonnais focuses on the cable, telecommunications, energy, lodging, health-care, transportation, and real estate industries.
