Adams National Bank Names Executive

MIDDLE ATLANTIC

Adams National Bank, Washington, has hired Karen E. Schafke as chief financial and as a senior vice president.

She succeeded Kimberly J. Levine, who left the $130 million-asset subsidiary of Abigail Adams National Bancorp this summer after the May resignation of its previous management team. (Ms. Levine was also treasurer; Adams National has not named a new one.)

Ms. Schafke has 25 years' experience in the financial industry. She came to Adams from Treasury Bank, also in Washington, where she was the CFO and controller. Earlier she was manager of the treasury department at Household International in Prospect Heights, Ill., and held financial management jobs at the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Office of Thrift Supervision.
