In Brief: Toronto-Dominion to Use Harbinger Technology

Electronic data interchange vendor Harbinger Corp. said its TrustedLink IVAS technology has been chosen by Toronto-Dominion Bank for an Internet-based business banking service. Canada's fifth-largest bank said the service, TD Access EC Express, is the first such on-line system in that country specifically designed for small and medium-size businesses.

Users will be able "to transmit business documents as well as receive payments-closing the loop on electronic business transactions," said Ian Struthers, the bank's vice president of cash management services.

TrustedLink IVAS serves as an infrastructure for data exchanges among trading partners using almost any communications protocol.
