In Brief: Dresdner Subsidiary Appoints Executive VP

Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, the investment banking arm of Germany's Dresdner Bank, has appointed George Handjinicolau executive vice president and head of global markets for the Americas.

Mr. Handjinicolau will be based in New York and report to T.J. Lim, Erich Pohl, and Heinrich Linz, co-heads of global markets, and to George N. Fugelsang, chief executive for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson North America. He succeeds Baudouin Croonenberghs, who was named CEO for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in Asia.

Mr. Handjinicolau previously served as managing director and head of fixed-income derivatives for the Americas at Union Bank of Switzerland, head of treasury operations at the International Finance Corp., and senior vice president and head of financial engineering and risk management at BankAmerica Corp.
