Flushing Financial Corp Names Executive

MIDDLE ATLANTIC

Flushing Financial Corp. in Flushing, N.Y., has promoted executive vice president Michael J. Hegarty to president and chief executive officer.

He succeeded James F. McConnell, 65, who retired but remains a director. Gerard P. Tully Sr., 71, is chairman of the $1.1 billion-asset company, which owns Flushing Savings Bank.

Mr. Hegarty, 59, had been executive vice president and chief operating officer since August 1995.

He has been a director since 1987, when he was chief financial officer, vice president, and secretary of EDO Corp.

EDO makes systems and electronic equipment for the military, marine, aviation, and aerospace markets.
