ABN Amro North America Names Executive

ABN Amro North America, Chicago, has hired Thomas M. Goldstein as group senior vice president and head of its financial planning and analysis division.

Mr. Goldstein was senior vice president of Novus Financial Corp. of Riverwoods, Ill., a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.

Before joining Novus in 1988 he worked in mergers and acquisitions at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. Earlier he was a financial manager at Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company.

He reports to Thomas C. Heagy, chief financial officer of ABN Amro North America.

The company also promoted Craig R. Schmidt, deputy manager of its loan review department, from first vice president to senior vice president.

Mr. Schmidt came to Amro in 1992 from Continental Bank in Chicago, where he was a vice president.
