Short Takes: John Nuveen Fills 2 Bank Wholesaler Slots

John Nuveen & Co., Chicago, has hired two bank wholesalers to succeed two who moved to other companies.

The new executives are vice presidents. Henry Merrill started Sept. 8 as a wholesaler for the Northern California, Pacific Northwest, and Mountain territory. He was hired from BankAmerica Corp., where he oversaw marketing of the bank's proprietary investment products.

Michael DeBaecke joined the company Sept. 28 as a wholesaler covering the metropolitan New York and New England territory.

Previously, he was Nationwide Insurance Co.'s regional marketing director for the Middle Atlantic states.

The executives succeed Arnel Dimagiba, who went to Dean Witter Intercapital as a wholesaler, and Thomas Lewkoski, who became a regional sales manager for Republic Financial Services.
