A few words about the name, Turning Points. We were looking for a metaphor that addressed individuals in transition, either within their current organizations or beyond. And we couldn't help but notice that the name was also an apt description of the financial services industry itself.
Anita Lands, a New York-based career consultant, sums up the times when she says "the reciprocal relationship between employer and employee no longer exists. People will have to be far more proactive in managing their affairs than in the past."
Turning Points is sure to be a useful tool in that quest, helping you make the very most of yourself. That, in turn, can only contribute to a better, more competitive financial services industry. In that sense, the mission of this new publication is right in line with that of our 161-year- old flagship, American Banker.
