In Brief: World Bank Agency Names Executive VP

The International Finance Corp., the private equity investment agency of the World Bank, has named Peter L. Woicke to become executive vice president.

He is to start in December and hold the job for five years. He will succeed Jannik Lindbaek, who is retiring.

Mr. Woicke is chairman of J.P. Morgan Securities Asia in Singapore. Before running Morgan's Asian capital markets operation, Mr. Woicke managed two banks in Brazil from 1982 to 1987, ran Morgan's oil and gas group from London, and headed the banking division of a Morgan affiliate in Beirut from 1973 to 1976.
