Commerzbank of Germany has chosen to base its consumer home banking and in-house administrative functions on a system from NetDynamics Inc., the Silicon Valley vendor announced.
Selected in consultation with system integrators from Andersen Consulting, NetDynamics was used to design the Comline on-line banking system, which initially gave account holders access to accounts and banking functions.
A second phase followed with more comprehensive portfolio management features.
In the administrative application, Commerzbank said it aims to replace as many paper-based operations as it can with electronics.
"We believe that in order to advance our position as one of the leading banks in Germany, we need to implement a modern network computing environment within our information technology infrastructure, said the bank's IT director, Pierre Waltmans.
