Card Briefs: Bank of New Zealand Offering Airline Card

Bank of New Zealand has introduced a cobranded credit card with Air New Zealand.

Besides giving mileage rewards on the airline, the Global Plus MasterCard can also be used as a calling card through an arrangement with Telecom New Zealand.

The card blends two existing loyalty programs: the airline's Air Points program, which has 240,000 members, and Telecom Talking Points, which has 630,000.

Global Plus customers will be able to convert Telecom Talking Points into Air Points.

"Global Plus is the beginning of a partnership that will develop regular enhancements," said Brent McKenzie, Bank of New Zealand's credit cards chief. "Customers can look to more benefits in the future."
