City National Bank in Beverly Hills has hired Home Savings of America's director of banking services.

Jan R. Cloyde will be the first person to hold that title at City National. As at Home Savings, she will be an executive vice president.

Washington Mutual Inc. bought Home Savings' parent company, H.F. Ahmanson, on Oct. 1.

Ms. Cloyde will oversee City National's loan center, information systems, operations, management consulting, and cash management. She will report to Russell Goldsmith, chairman and chief executive officer.

Ms. Cloyde had come to Home Savings in 1996 from First Interstate Bank, where she was also an executive vice president. Wells Fargo bought First Interstate that year.
