Adams National Names Executive

MIDDLE ATLANTIC

Adams National Bank in Washington, a subsidiary of Abigail Adams National Bancorp, has hired three vice presidents.

Arthur C. Smith 3d and Marc A. Herbst were named vice presidents of commercial lending.

Mr. Smith, who has over 15 years' banking experience in Washington, was most recently the head of his own mortgage lending company.

Mr. Herbst was a vice president at Wachovia Bank, and before that he worked for American Security Bank and McLachlen National Bank.

Betty J. Serrano was hired as vice president of human resources and operations. She was vice president of operations at Treasury Bank.

Adams National also elected Patricia G. Shannon and Carl E. Hecht as directors.

Ms. Shannon is the president and chief executive officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. Earlier she was a senior vice president and credit officer at NationsBank.

Mr. Hecht is the chairman of U.S. Tag and Label in Baltimore.
