Cash Management Software Firm Picks Up 2 Partners, Including Fiserv

Politzer & Haney, a privately held developer of cash management software, has found two new markets for its popular browser-based cash management software.

Banklink, a New York unit of Fiserv Inc., has agreed to make Politzer & Haney's software, Web Cash Manager, available through its cash management outsourcing service.

Politzer & Haney, based in Newton, Mass., also is expected to announce today a partnership with Intelidata Technologies Corp., a developer of home banking software.

Banklink, formed by Chemical Banking Corp. in 1977 and bought by Fiserv in 1995, provides cash management outsourcing to 150 banks and 26,000 corporations. Through the agreement with Politzer & Haney, browser-enabled outsourcing services would become available in the first quarter of 1999.

Steven Komar, president of Banklink, cited "incredible demand for the technology, particularly from banks."

As for Intelidata, it would build Politzer & Haney's cash management software into its own home banking software. Client banks could then use that software to offer bill processing services to corporations.

"We see integration of our two products as a logical extension of electronic bill payment into the business banking market," said Christopher Haney, president of Politzer & Haney.

Politzer & Haney has sold its DOS- and Windows-based cash management software to 350 bank customers serving 25,000 corporations. Its year-old browser technology is in use at several of the largest banks in the nation, including Chase Manhattan Corp. and First Union Corp.
