Tech Bytes: HP Picks Exec to Lead Global Business Unit

Hewlett-Packard Co. appointed Olivier Trancart, a 15-year company veteran, to be general manager of its worldwide financial services business unit.

He succeeds Mario Fontana, who left to pursue opportunities in his native Switzerland.

Mr. Trancart, 43, most recently was general manager of Hewlett-Packard's enterprise accounts organization in France. He is to relocate to Cupertino, Calif., where Hewlett-Packard's financial services business unit is headquartered.

Mr. Trancart will lead Hewlett-Packard's effort to sell First Global, a set of consulting and integration services for customer relationship management, payment systems, and delivery channels.
