Card Briefs: TSA Exec Reelected To Hypercom Board

William E. Fisher, chief executive officer of Transaction System Architects Inc. of Omaha, was reelected a director of Hypercom Corp., the point of sale systems vendor.

Transaction System Architects, known as TSA, owns a portfolio of funds- transfer technology and processing companies, including Applied Communications Inc., a payments software provider that works closely with Hypercom.

Mr. Fisher has been on Phoenix-based Hypercom's board since November 1997. Also a director of BankAmerica Corp.'s BA Merchant Services Inc., Mr. Fisher, 57, has been chairman, president, and CEO of TSA since its inception in 1993.

At the same Hypercom annual meeting, Hypercom chairman George Wallner, 47, and vice chairman Albert A. Irato, 61, were also reelected Class I directors. Mr. Wallner founded the company in Australia in 1978. Mr. Irato has been president and chief executive officer since 1992.
