In Brief: Exec in a Wells Unit Expands His Authority

Norwest Mortgage has given added responsibilities to managing director Peter J. Wissinger.

In addition to running retail loan production and mortgage servicing, Mr. Wissinger, 44, will now oversee third-party origination for Norwest Mortgage, a unit of Wells Fargo & Co., San Francisco.

Patrick M. Sheehy, executive vice president for institutional lending, will now report to Mr. Wissinger. Previously, Mr. Sheehy reported directly to Mark Oman, chief executive officer of Norwest Mortgage, the largest originator and servicer of residential mortgages.

Mr. Wissinger will continue to report to Mr. Oman.

"Positioning our key distribution channels under one leader will further align our organization and its resources, while strengthening our focus on serving customers when, where, and how they want to be served," Mr. Oman said in a statement.
