Accounting Giant Names Formant To Run Americas Banking Group

PricewaterhouseCoopers, New York, has named the head of its global banking consulting practice to also lead its Americas banking industry group.

Chris Formant had been the chairman of Coopers & Lybrand's national banking industry group and bank consulting practice. Coopers & Lybrand merged with Price Waterhouse on July 1.

Mr. Formant will oversee six service-line leaders in the Americas banking industry group. They are:

Chris Lucas, based in New York and in charge of assurance and business advisory services. Mr. Lucas held a similar post at Price Waterhouse.

Don Routh, based in San Francisco, who runs the management consulting services line of business. Mr. Routh was the head of consulting in Coopers' national banking group. Earlier he was the chief financial officer of Wells Fargo & Co.'s retail banking group.

Dave Sunderhaft, based in Cleveland, who heads global human resource solutions. Mr. Sunderhaft also came from Coopers & Lybrand.

Dick Harvey, in New York and in charge of tax and legal services. Mr. Harvey was the managing partner of Price Waterhouse's banking tax group.

Sam Pyland, in Dallas, who leads the financial advisory services line of business. Mr. Pyland held a similar title in Coopers' national banking industry group.

Larry Quimby, in Philadelphia, head of the business process outsourcing line of business. He had been a Price Waterhouse partner since 1986.
