Card Briefs: Reports from Experian Available by Telephone

Experian Inc. is selling credit reports through an automated telephone system 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The aim is to provide quicker service to consumers who want copies of their credit report. Customer service representatives will still help people who want personal assistance, and Experian said it has expanded the number of hours such help is available.

Experian also said it is upgrading its credit reports to make them easier to read. And it is making plans to let consumers order their credit reports on the Internet and have them delivered initially by mail and later electronically, said spokeswoman Debbie Schoenekase.
