Short Takes: N.Y. Life Taps Exec for Retirement Fund Plans

Marc Brookman has been hired to be vice president of New York Life Insurance Co. and a senior vice president of its asset management arm.

Mr. Brookman, 34, oversees retail retirement plans for the company's MainStay Funds. He is also to develop retail distribution of 11 institutional funds.

Mr. Brookman, who joined the company in October, was previously national sales director at United Asset Management Retirement Plan Services, Boston. Mainstay Management Inc., Parsippany, N.J., has $17.5 billion of assets under management.
