East West Bank Names Executive

WEST

East West Bank of San Marino, Calif., has hired Sandra M. Wong as executive vice president and chief credit officer.

Ms. Wong had been a senior vice president and senior credit officer in Bank of America's business banking division, where she managed a $3 billion loan portfolio.

Recently Ms. Wong worked with other senior credit officers to contain the bank's Korean exposure in the Asian financial crisis. During the Mexican financial crisis of the 1980s she served on the bank's international credit risk management team.

At East West, Ms. Wong reports to Julia Gouw, executive vice president and chief financial officer.

The privately held bank, which has $2 billion of assets and 23 branches throughout California, serves the Chinese-American community. It filed with the SEC in September to make an initial public offering.
