Tech Bytes: Clearing House Group Seminar Wednesday

The Phoenix-based American Clearing House Association has scheduled the first of a series of seminars Feb. 11 to alert financial institutions in the region to new electronic commerce and payment service developments among its "vendor affiliate" members.

The first session at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix will include presentations by David Kvederis, chief executive officer of Bankserv; John Carreker, principal of Carreker-Antinori; Dan Carmel, senior vice president, Sonnet Financial; Andy Duncan, CEO of EC Co.; and Glenn Gottfried, vice president, Thomson Financial Publishing. (The last is a unit of Thomson Corp., as is American Banker.)

Co-hosting these seminars is one of the benefits of the new vendor membership category, said Holly Merrill, chief executive officer of the clearing house. "We believe this is a terrific networking opportunity for our members" that will "help improve or expand their product knowledge."
