In Brief: High-Ranking Barnett Execs Said to Face Ax

More detailed information about managerial layoffs stemming from the acquisition of Barnett Banks Inc. by NationsBank Corp. is beginning to emerge.

The Florida Times-Union here reported that the merger would displace high-level Barnett executives including: Rich Reddick, Barnett's chief technical executive; Lynn Reaser, chief economist; Greg Delaney, controller; Andrea Mims, head of the bank's year-2000 project; and Marty Farmer, executive director of government relations.

A spokeswoman for the bank in Jacksonville declined to comment.

In January, NationsBank, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., estimated it would eliminate at least 6,000 jobs in the merger.
