Apak to Market Prologic's Core System in Europe

Prologic Corp. said it has reached an agreement with Apak Systems Ltd. of the United Kingdom to offer the Prologic Ovation banking system in Europe.

Ovation is a comprehensive core banking system that runs on the Microsoft Windows NT operating system. In December it was judged the best Microsoft retail banking industry solution at the Bank Administration Institute's Retail Delivery Conference.

Prologic, which was founded in 1984, said the agreement strengthens a long-standing relationship between the companies. Prologic relies on Apak's "extensive experience in the European financial industry," said Prologic president and chief executive officer Robert Wilband.

"The rapid approach of the euro standard and the increasing pace of mergers and acquisitions in Europe is driving demand for a flexible, mission-critical solution," he said.

Apak Systems regards Ovation as its "flagship client/server solution for the retail and commercial banking industry," said Tony Papadopoullos, group chief executive and technical director of Apak. "Our partnership positions us for further expansion into the U.K. and European financial markets."
