In Brief: Corillian Sells MoneyPad To a Calif. Credit Union

Corillian Corp., a provider of interactive banking software based on the OFX standard, said it has sold its MoneyPad product to a credit union.

Provident Central Credit Union, based in the San Francisco area, has become the first in its industry to purchase the system for creating customized on-line banking and transaction services.

With the flexibility afforded by the OFX specifications, the software can support the Microsoft Money, Intuit Quicken, or MoneyPad Personal Banker programs, said Corillian president Kirk Wright.

Corillian's Microsoft NT-based server system was the first to be "OFX certified" by Prosoft Engineering, the firm that was selected by Microsoft Corp. and OFX-alliance partners Intuit Inc. and Checkfree Corp. to verify vendor compliance.

Mr. Wright said Provident Central, a customer of Fiserv Inc.'s credit union technology unit Summit Information Systems, is the 49th-largest credit union and has a reputation for innovation.

The institution's chief executive officer, Ludelle Morrow, who was the Credit Union Executives Society's 1997 executive of the year, called MoneyPad "the future of PC banking" and said it will deliver to Provident members "the most convenient, cost-effective method available to access their finances anywhere at any time."
