Card Briefs: Pizza Hut Franchisee Installs Hypercom T7P

Hypercom Corp. said NPC International Inc. of Pittsburg, Kan., the largest franchise group for Pizza Hut restaurants, has installed Hypercom T7P point-of-sale terminals in all 685 of its locations in 24 states.

NPC's merchant processor, First Tennessee Merchant Services Inc., is servicing the devices. The company is owned by First Tennessee Bank of Memphis.

The franchisee began the deployment last November in dine-in restaurants and recently expanded it to include 150 walk-in and delivery locations, which previously did not accept credit cards.

The T7P, which has a built-in printer, has a "highly favorable design for our use, because it is easy to operate and has a small footprint," said Mike Gibson, NPC's director of corporate administration.

Steve Demaree, senior vice president of merchant sales at First Tennessee, said, "It is not often that a customer of this size decides to install this many terminals at one time."
