Huntington Promotes Exec To Lead Data Systems, Service

Huntington Service Co., Columbus, Ohio, the technology and operations unit of Huntington Bancshares, promoted James D. Stitzlein to senior vice president and division executive of information systems and services.

The division includes consumer and corporate banking software maintenance and development, technology support, and the company's year- 2000 project. Mr. Stitzlein will also head systems conversions at First Michigan Bank, which was recently acquired by Huntington, and the Florida branches of Barnett Banks, an acquisition that is pending.

In addition, he will oversee the upgrading of Huntington's direct call center.

Mr. Stitzlein joined Huntington in 1985 as a programmer-analyst. In 1992 he became manager in financial systems, and in 1996, was promoted to group manager for information systems and services.
