Short Takes: 2 Execs Survive Shifts By Scudder Kemper

Scudder Kemper Investments will keep the same bank channel chiefs in the United States as Scudder Stevens & Clark and Zurich Kemper Investments had before they merged last month, the company said.

Hank Schulthesz, senior vice president of Kemper Funds' financial institutions division, will remain in that post, as will William Thomas, his counterpart at Scudder Funds, a spokesman for Scudder Kemper said.

The announcement came Monday amid management reshuffling about six months after the combination of Scudder and Kemper was announced. The deal closed last week.

The company, which runs one of the 10 largest mutual fund businesses in the United States, also announced the launching of five Kemper funds, all of which will be available through banks.

The funds are the Kemper International Growth and Income fund, the Kemper Global Blue Chip Fund, the Kemper Emerging Markets Income Fund, the Kemper Emerging Markets Growth Fund, and the Kemper Latin America Fund.

New York-based Scudder Kemper Investments manages more than $200 billion of mutual fund assets.
