In Brief: MBNA to Launch a Call Center in Ireland

MBNA Corp., the Delaware-based credit card bank, plans to set up a call center in Dublin, creating 200 new jobs within two years.

MBNA has already begun recruiting English-speaking graduates to staff the center and service customers in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

MBNA began operating in Ireland early last year when it opened a sales office in Dublin.

The bank moved into Europe five years ago, when it set up MBNA International Bank Ltd. in Chester, England. It has since acquired around two million British customers.
