Card Briefs: Ga. Firm Introduces Hotel Payment System

Global Payment Systems has unveiled Global Hospitality LAN, a payment management system for hotels.

The system uses a local area network to integrate all elements of a hotel's needs, from credit card processing to inventory to accounting. The software also links a hotel's restaurants and gift shops to its main system.

"This product runs at the front desk and consolidates in the back office," said Robert Johnston, hospitality product manager for Global Payment Systems.

The merchant processing company is controlled by National Data Corp., with MasterCard International holding a minority interest.

The product can support all types of hotels, from budget to full- service.
