Executive Changes: Mark Formica Back at the Helm Of Citizens Bank In

Citizens Financial Group, Providence, R.I., has put Mark J. Formica, a vice chairman, back in charge of Citizens Bank of Rhode Island.

Mr. Formica had left the unit in January 1997 to lead the parent company's retail enterprises group. Lawrence K. Fish, chairman of the parent, took over his duties.

The group has now been dissolved, and Scott Kisting, who joined the company last September as president and chief operating officer, is in charge of all retail operations.

Mr. Formica is once again president and chief executive officer of Citizens Bank of Rhode Island. He also assumed the newly created title of chairman of the bank.

He remains chairman of Citizens Mortgage Corp. and head of the consumer finance group and of Citizens Investment Services. Until this fall he will also continue to oversee Citizens' computer systems conversion.

Mr. Formica came to Citizens in 1992 from Roanoke, Va.-based Dominion Bancshares, where he was executive vice president of retail banking and community lending. First Union Corp. bought the bank in 1993.

Citizens Financial Group is owned by Royal Bank of Scotland and Bank of Ireland.
