Card Briefs: Equifax Buys British Risk Management Firm

Equifax said it has bought one of the United Kingdom's leading risk and credit management organizations, CCI Group PLC.

The $1.4 billion, Atlanta-based information company said it purchased CCI to enhance international operations. Equifax operates in 17 countries and sells products in more than 40.

CCI, of Woking, England, and Glasgow, Scotland, is a six-year-old company with $11 million in revenue that specializes in risk management, credit management, and customer marketing services.

"It is a clear objective for Equifax to expand our range of services throughout Europe," said Thomas F. Chapman, Equifax's president and chief executive officer. "With the addition of the services of CCI, we can now significantly increase our risk management portfolio."
