Short Takes: Banc One Confirms Insurance Exec's Exit

Alan M. Harrington has left Banc One Corp. less than a year after joining as senior vice president in the bank's insurance business, a bank spokesman confirmed.

Mr. Harrington was part of a three-person executive management team reporting to Glen Milesko, president of Banc One Insurance Services Corp., Milwaukee. He left early this month, the spokesman said.

Mr. Harrington, who joined Banc One in July from Time Insurance Co., left voluntarily to pursue a new career, the spokesman said. He noted that Mr. Harrington is a member of the City Council in Mequon, Wis., but could not confirm whether the executive plans to enter politics full-time. Mr. Harrington could not be reached to comment.

Banc One, Columbus, Ohio, is searching for a successor.

Its insurance unit had $125 million of revenues last year, up from $90 million in 1996.
